IN the Quiet Moments after the storm has passed, there is a collective sigh as all Nature draws in a breath

One of my passions is lightning storms. Awesome displays of power, set in motion by the Wrath of God!

High on my list of great places to be
In a Thunderstorm,
Is on the beach.

Lightning leaping from sky to water
Powering locomotive sized waves
On their tracks to the beach.
Churning brown sand, like steam from their wheels
as they roll up to the edge of sea and land.

Winds from the edges of the earth
exploding raindrops on your face;
Carrrying the sound of thunder
As the amen of the distant flash.

And then ….In the quiet after math of the storm….
As the very universes seems to stop and catch its breath
In the quiet vacuum of awe and wonder
There is a peace …….!

Father , when raging storms have dwarfed what puny power I have,
Powerful waves flooding my mind and heart
Lighting flashes of evil
Crashing in on my plans or dreams

In that moment of focused, desperate prayer;
When the spoken name of Jesus
Calms the overwhelming storms of chaos and doubt.

When He has my full attention;
His still, small voice, speaks.
And , . . . . there is peace....

You walk us through the storm and show us the majesty and beauty of God in it all. While reading this, I too can stand on the beach with exploding raindrops on my face and then sigh after the storm breathing in with all of nature.
You take us to the throne room, to the feet of Jesus the only one who can calm the storms of our lives.

I've experienced exactly what you are talking about. In northern Ohio on the shore of Lake Erie, the storms are particularly fierce, but the aftermath is often clear and beautiful, and the flat land enables you to see the clouds as they are moving eastward, only now they are a passing storm that is lit up by the sunlight.
